Fat Tuesday

R's delicious Valentine's Day treats!
Fat Tuesday

So, last night was a little stressful for personal reasons, so no better day could follow but Fat Tuesday! After running errands in the morning, I spent the afternoon chilling and allowing myself to be lazy. Tonight was spent eating chili with a couple of my girlfriends, devouring these amazing cookies, whose recipe you can find on R's Blog, and catching up. I hope you enjoyed your Fat Tuesday as much as we did! Cheers!

Bartending - House Party

So tonight was nothing extreme, or out of the ordinary, or something I hadn't done before. Tonight was just fun. R and I bartended for a family's Valentine's Day house party. Deal was that we could drink on the job and just have a fun time together while pouring some basic drinks for their friends.

The whole thing ended up being super chill and fun. Even though there is a definitely age gap, we enjoyed talking with their friends and memorizing their go to drinks, and even found a fellow Badger! (we're everywhere!) They rented a karaoke machine and people drank and were merry.
For the sake of privacy, I'm not going to post karaoke or party pictures, but I do have a "high school" -ish type pic of myself after I got ready for the party and a few pre-party pics. I wish I could post the karaoke ones, but I just love those singers too much to embarrass anyone!

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Feel free to share your weekend activities or make fun of mine. Cheers!

Wine & Food Tasting at the Ferry Building

This evening, R and I went to a Valentines Day week kick off at the Ferry Building - or something like that. Lots of tables set up with wine or small portions of food for those interested to try. It reminded me of markets that one would find in every major city in Spain. Take a wine glass around and taste what each station has to offer. Pay with cash or tickets, walk through the crowd, select which portions look most appetizing, and enjoy random string bands or soloists. Between the two of us, we tested out spring rolls, sausage on a stick, strawberries with creme fresh and honey, meat skewers, and of course ended on chocolate cake. So fun to see all the people and take in the sounds and smells.

We skipped the wine tasting portion due to the allure of a happy hour. After walking in one direction and then the next,  we ended up at Sens. Happy hour until 8pm, Monday-Friday.  Can't beat that! One side has a restaurant and bar,  but we got a table in their large lounge feel room,  that has a swanky almost club like feel. Loud music and DJ added to the plentiful happy hour menu. R ordered a flatbread pizza - yum. Beer, wine,  and Moscow Mule spin offs flowed as girl night progressed (L joined us). I enjoyed Sens, but now have a raspy voice from talking over the music.
